How to find percentage

Topic :- Percentage

a percentage is a way of expressing a number as a fraction of 100. But to solve fraction problem
We don't need percentages.

Here is a simple problem ,which shows how to find percentage.

28 is what percent of 80?

Solution:-

  Let the number 'x'

  28 = x% of 80

           x
    28 = ------ * 80
          100
    
 Since, 25*4=80 and 25*5=100
 
           x
    28 = ------ * 4  
           5

      
divide with 4 on both sides

     28       x       4
    ----- = ------ * ----
     4        5       4

             x
     7   = ----- 
             5

 Multiply with 4 on both sides

     7*5 = x 

So x=35

  35% of 80 is 28.
